Perfect Timing.

The chest cold is still hanging on valiantly. I still feel “almost better,” or “in the last stages,” but I’ve felt that way for the last week, and I still get the hacking cough-a-lung-up fits if I breathe hard enough to do much more than walk around.

So, I called my doctor for an appointment today. Turns out he’s going to be out of the office for the rest of the week, so the earliest I can get in would be next Monday. Lovely. Hopefully I’ll be better by then… but who knows. Sheesh.

Anyhow, thanks to all of you for the support. I certainly appreciate it!

Update: The doctor’s office called back, and they’re working me in today (Tuesday). I’ll be the last person he sees before he goes on vacation. My doctor rocks.

Could be good; could clear up. :)

In any case, chin up and remember that what does not kill you makes you stronger.

and the prognosis is??? (My fingers are crossed for you!)

The doctor didn’t make a solid diagnosis today, but he suspects bacterial pertussis, and put me on a high-powered antibiotic. I’m really, really hoping it’s not pertussis, as our kids will have all been exposed to it, as will a large number of their friends. We’re going to try to get them to do the lab test to see if that’s really it. It’d explain some of the symptoms, and its contagiousness. From what I’ve read on it since then, I’ve probably got another week of recovery to do at this point, and that’s with the anti-biotics.

Not exactly happy news, but at least it puts an end-point on this whole thing.

Thanks for the support, concern, and well-wishes from everyone!
