Transit of Venus

For those of you who didn’t know, the planet Venus crossed between the Earth and the Sun this morning.

Spaceweather.com has a great image gallery of the event from many different observers across the globe. (My favorite picture here.)

Venus transits the sun twice, about 8 years apart (next transit in 2012), and then not again for roughly 120 years.
